Acacia wood is water proof and used for flooring, cutting boards, and other wood items. Because acacia wood is waterproof it doesn't absorb moisture and won't be susceptible to mold and bacteria. As a cutting board it requires hand washing with soapy water and hand or air dried. After each cleaning protect the board with a proper preservative - food grade mineral oil designed for cutting boards. Store the board in a cool dry location when not in use. Don't use the board in a dishwasher or microwave oven.
