Large Skull Cutting Board/Charcuterie Platter Maple Wood. Condition is "New". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
A large hand-burned cutting board of solid maple plank.
I begin with solid 3/4 thick maple wood plank that is cut to size, pegged, glued and clamped for maximum seam strength.
Only the basic outline of the skull image is transferred to the wood surface. All the interior detail is then meticulously free-handed with a burning tool making each board a unique work of art.
The edge of the board is then hand burned to close the grain and make it less susceptible to moisture.
Then the entire board is hand rubbed with three coats of a food-safe, non-allergic, tung oil and left to cure.
Each board is then hand buffed to a low sheen.
A full grain leather thong is then knotted for hanging.
The board measures 14"x 12 3/4" and is 3/4" thick
